The website is up! and available for your use and comment.
This hopefully will be the last blog entry under the "commentary on website building" category. It is up and it is running - and I'm happy with it. I am going to be constantly adjusting things, colors, background images, and of course blog entries, but Ursa International finally has a new website! In the world of coincidental happenings - right before the 'go live' switch took place, I received an email from a student who was interested in knowing more about who we were and what we do, and she was generally bubbling over with questions. Before she signed off, she took a moment to tell me how bad our old website was! I agreed with her completely - and how it was up way to long in that configuration.

As I recall, I put the previous version together as a method to access lots of project promotional material for an interview I was going to have at the Birmingham Zoo. I thought - wouldn't it be cool to walk into the room with an internet connection and projector and be able to present images from a catalogue of projects assembled on a website - and it was. I didn't get the job, but I used that deadline to assemble lots of materials. I used that website to send people to, if I needed to show them my folio, without having to print hard copies and FedEx which was my norm back then. The old website served me well - and to me, it wasn't so bad, because it was easy to use, and I could easily up load images that instantaneously would be viewable all over the world in seconds. But it, as this young lady said "might need to be freshened up."

So here you are, Students, prospective clients and zoo practitioners all over the world - the new Ursa International Website is on-line and ready for your criticism and comments. Please take the time to let me know what you think - if there are things you'd like to see or functions that you like it to have. Gail wants Videos - lots of videos - so that is on the horizon. I'm hoping that this becomes a place to present works-in-progress, if my clients agree.

Otherwise - thanks for making your way to Ursainternational.org. Let's build something together.

And Happy New Year!
